NEW MOON WHO DIS

This past weekend was amazing but very heavy energetically. The Scorpio New Moon had me feeling heavy with contemplation, examining the cycles of my life as they present themselves in new ways. Halloween on Monday meant the veil between this world and the spirit realm was at its thinnest. Halloween is the day that spirits can come and go as they please, as can faery. Halloween weekend was the first time it’s been rainy and overcast since I arrived in LA three months ago. It felt like Autumn and it was beautiful but also very strong. I was on edge and vaguely anxious but spending time with my favorite people helped- a bit of hot chocolate, seeing a little boy in a dinosaur costume, and buying a cute scrunchy also helped. The energy is still strong so take time for yourself. Take a bath, reflect on the past month, go to a therapist, make some art- do what you need to do to make sure you’re in the safest, healthiest place you can be. Wear something that makes you feel good about being in your body if you can.

Wear a little color, layer up and enjoy the ride. img_8959img_8960img_8963img_8961img_8962Sweater:: Zara// Jeans:: American Apparel// Bomber:: Urban Outfitters// Shoes:: T.U.K

FEELING YRSELF

Guys it’s happened. For the first time in my 21 years of existence I’m feelin myself- completely and utterly without any damn guilt. I’ve had this sense of peace with who I am, where I am and where I’m going and that feels good! A big part of this, for me, is that for the first time I love what I’m wearing. I feel like my clothing is a conscious and visual manifestation of my soul; I feel aligned. I like to think of this as enlightened personal style, soul style if you will; a non-verbal, purely aesthetic representation of the beauty your soul feels from all the high vibe living it’s doing in this life. In my case, this means a freshly shaved head, some good lipstick, a lot of black, something slightly unexpected and a tad of something sultry. In today’s post this also means something outside of my comfort zone- color. 1Okay so deep green may not be a shocking color, or anything explicit, but for this gal (who feels wholly herself in head-to-toe black) it’s a step and it shall be noted. I saw this top and immediately gravitated toward the slight side boob silhouette and the folky pattern. This top reminds me of the Celts, of folklore, of the faeries. When I realized this shirt fit perfectly, I had no choice- I was in and I had to buy it. I paired the look with the most amazing and probably most important piece of jewelry I have ever received. My lovely Ivory found was telling me all about this magnifying glass necklace she had found at the flea market and I knew I had to have it. I even asked her to hold on to any Aquarius coins she found so I could pair it with the necklace. That night she got home and sent me a photo- she had an Aquarius coin and hadn’t realized it. Synchronicity anyone?? The next day she gave me this necklace- the most beautiful, yellow gold, perfect looking magnifying glass with the trusty coin right beside it. I definitely cried- it’s like a friendship horcrux, when you do something so out of love that you give your friends a little piece of your soul so they’ll always have you with them.  2I paired this top with my only pair of black jeans from Topshop (which I am obsessed with). my trusty fuzzy sweater and some clog like sandals. I was going for space alien 70’s chic. 11 10 9 8 7 4Shirt and shoes: Urban Outfitters// Pants: Topshop// Necklace: Forgotten Feather Vintage5What’s your soul style?

Wednesdays Are for…

Wednesdays are for wearing something extra dark and powerful. They’re for working at Hip Wa Zee, eating El Burrito and watching American Horror Story. Wednesday’s are a personal victory, an ode to the middle of the week, an ode to balance right before the weekend. One of my favorite things about this semester is how I’ve come to appreciate hump days. Granted, I only have classes two days a week, but regardless I feel like I never slow down. Although my Wednesdays are spent working, I’ve managed to find some sweetness in them. During the month of October, and the most hectic month of the year, my friend Ivory and I decided to have “Witch Wednesday”, in which, you guessed it, we dressed in our darkest clothes. If you remember my witch post, you’ll know that every day is witch-day for me.. but it is fun to have a day designated to wearing my favorite pieces. wwWitch Wednesday soon coupled itself with the return of American Horror Story and so began my love affair for this very special day of the week. Here’s the thing; life is crazy and hard and hectic, and during all of this we forget how good it can be. Here’s a trick; don’t wait for life to throw something wonderful at you, instead, make something to look forward to for yourself. For me, this means spending the day  wearing an outfit that makes me feel like a Death Queen, working with one of my closest friends at work and then ending the day by watching my favorite tv show.  American Horror Story: Freak Show is amazing and watching it with Ivory and my sister makes it that much better.ww 2ww 3www4Today, I paired my favorite tulip shorts with a harness bra, some knee socks and my favorite “Witch” bag.

What I’m Wearing Wednesday; Instagram Edition

Having a job where you wear a uniform is great for a few reasons. Namely, you don’t have to figure out what to wear everyday, and when you have an off day you can go all out. I’ve been doing my best to start documenting my outfits via Instagram once again, and thought it would be worth it to share them on here as well. I bought this incredible purse at work, Zara, since we’re having our sale and I’m obsessed. If you’re lucky enough to have a Zara near you, GO! I wish i was exagerating when I said the whole store is on sale..but I’m not. Be nice to the employees and go wild! Amazing pieces are up.

What have you been wearing?!

What I’m Wearing Wednesday; Mid November Daze

I love November for the most part. I love that it gets chilly and that I can celebrate Thanksgiving. I love the fact that for at least one day a year, I can sit down with my family and be thankful for everything the universe has so graciously given me, the fact that  I have to drive home for Thanksgiving makes it all the better. This year, my Thanksgiving break is going to be busy and lovely! I am heading home Tuesday, seeing Paramore Wednesday with one of my best friends, celebrating the holiday Thursday and then celebrating my mom’s birthday which is Saturday the 30th. Not to mention that Hannukah starts on Thanksgiving! Yeesh, what a busy four days! Since I am a planner, I knew I had to squeeze in the shoot that I missed this Sunday! Well, the amazing Morgan was gracious enough to shoot with me yesterday. I whipped out my trustee white wig that I got at Hip Wa Zee, my new Topshop leather leggings and my Zara cropped long sleeve striped shirt for a simple outfit.

First Day of Fourteenth Grade

Today was my first day of classes, and I had to find the perfect outfit to wear. I only had one class today, since I’m taking three online, and I wanted to find the perfect mix of “don’t mess with me” and “please buy me coffee if you’re in line in front of me”. I don’t want to scare anyone away, but I don’t want to look basic either.I ended up wearing a silk tee shirt, some Carven inspired shorts, my quilted bag and my combat boots.

Shirt: American Thread
Shorts and Necklaces: Forever 21
Purse: Zara

Scrunched up ugly face

The twin and I decided to take a first day of school picture…typical
