Style Sunday: Supernatural

Happy Sunday one and all! Today should have been a chilly November morning spent sipping coffee, but alas in Columbia it was a warm morning that was spent taking photos (after sipping coffee at brunch of course). I don’t mind the warmer weather in the months it’s suppose to be warm, but it is almost mid November, October came and went and I want to be able to celebrate Fall!

Anyway, I will have to celebrate the season in my own way, which means wearing darker colors and embracing the fact that my olive skin will be looking pastey and pale for the next few months. I always try to challenge myself with my outfits, and I try to wear pieces I haven’t worn in a while to spice things up. Today I was really feeling a black color pallet with pops of gold, and I decided upon this thrifted skirt and my favorite black leotard. This leotard is easily my favorite piece and I have gotten so much wear out of it since i bought it to go see The Pretty Reckless that it’s ridiculous. My babe friend Rachael, who I went to brunch with, pointed out this old gas station that has been completely painted white. She loves dark colors as much as I do and knew this would be the perfect place to take photos.

Leotard: The Junkman’s Daughter// Skirt: Thrifted// Purse and Sunglasses: American Thread// Shoes: Dolce Vita// Socks: Target// ID Bracelet: Nasty Gal// Stag Bracelet: Topshop// Necklace: Forever 21

I had to take a photo with my beautiful blogger babe Rachael! Find her blog HERE!

A Look on the Dark Side

She tried to back away but surely defeat was in her midst; darkness in her immediate future. She could only handle so much, being as frail and fragile as she was, and her breath caught in her throat as she stepped away in a vain attempt to outrun her stalker. It’s cool hand laid its kiss on her cheek and immediately she was falling into darkness, it’s bitter embrace tragic and somewhat charming. Death was an alluring enemy, beckoning her with it’s promise of eternal silence, yet she had wanted to find an escape; she had wanted an out. She would get it eventually, but on that All Hollows Eve death had chosen her as his lover for the night, draping her in a cloak of darkness for the evening. ¬†She was his princess in her midnight black dress and her wood soled Deandris, she was fit to be his one and only ally for the holiday. His chilling breath whispered in her ears as he led her around the graveyard. Only time could tell what the night would hold..

The constant rhythm of her heels was the only sign of her sly approach. She was as cunning as she was sultry; her smoking eyes would leave you breathless before you had a chance to run from her whip. She was a creature as free as the night, stalking men like they were nothing more than toys for her hearts amusement. Her lips curled in sheer satisfaction when the object of her so called “affection” was finally in her grasp, her bell like laugh ringing in your ears for days. Her red lips would whisper your name and her eyes would stalk you as you tried to escape a fight with her. She was as strong as she was beautiful. Her deception was cruel, for even in leather, her sleek strength could outmaneuver that of any man. She was a woman who would leave you wishing for more, the only memory you could hold onto was how she managed to make you hate and love her simultaneously; and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sunday Style:: Black and Yellow Lightning Bolts

I had the pleasure of having a lovely birthday weekend with some amazing friends. My parents drove up to visit me at school, as did one of my best friends, and I was able to spend time eating and talking with them. I think it’s incredibly important to surround yourself with others who bring out the best in you, and to surround yourself with love and positivity. What you admire in others can only enhance those characteristics in yourself. It’s pointless to be in a relationship or friendship with people who are only going to be negative or bring you down. I was so blessed to be able to spend my birthday with so many fantastic and loving people.

Today was spent eating brunch with my family and friend, Jordan, studying for a geology exam and getting some things sorted for my Etsy.
